Good heavens, Hans, leave some space for all us!

You're rapidly becoming amazing at this, and taking up all the room in the talent wagon.

Stop getting better before you leave all us behind.

This was excellent. A fantastic original cartoon short with a BEAUTIFUL style (submit this to Sundance and a ton of other film festivals- now).

Funny, amusing, and, most of all, pretty intelligent. I love the deeper themes here.

Also, I got a good chuckle out of the "NG Fanboy VG Version".

Keep up the good work and KEEP ANIMATING.

AlmightyHans responds:

thanks man, means a lot to me. but i don' think this is sundance material XD

yeah i wasn't going for the humor direction that you get reviews from the annoying little kids that tend to respond something along the lines of:

"OMFG THAT WUZ THE LOLZERS! MAKE MOAR!!!!!1!!!1!!8!!!!"

for that reason i directed them to the NG VG Fanboy version.

FInally, yes, i will keep up the work as much i can.

Well done.

Very classically animated. Loved the traditional style and story-telling. This brings back nostalgic memories of those cartoons I watched as a kid.
You did a great job.
Such a pity about the video resolution.
Hopefully you'll be able to make your future animations directly in flash.
I find it silly how Newgrounds favors some animations (giving them undeservingly high scores) simply because "Wow! You drew that by hand!?" but then ignores a lot of traditional stuff like this.
Haha, I think it's because you didn't make it obvious enough that each frame was done by hand.
You did a great job with the post-production. Nice coloring and it all fit well together. Very smooth.
Looking forward to more.
Keep animating, man!

The-AngelCrusher responds:

Thanks man. Yeh, noticed some abstract 2D animation got quite popular. Thing is abstract straight ahead animation does just build and build the amount of drawings you do, because the artist doesn't really time the animation properly, so you usually see things at a constant speed or spacing. Plus, its not really character animation, which is tricky, making a line grow or whatever is pretty basic.

Maybe its just because my hand isn't in shot, or that the film doesnt look like 2D animation, which is great from my point of view, means I made something like looks professional. Maybe I should have uploaded pencil tests to be popular ^_^

No hard feelings. Its a finished film that i am happy to send to companies and stick on my showreel. Cartoon Network wont hire you for animating a line after all now will they ;)

Picture quality sucks, but it was either this size and be blurry, or smaller and still be abit blurry. lol Hopefully my next film will render better...although it'll take longer cos of the length of it. I could just clean it up in flash though, who knows :)

Keep it up.

Keep animating, man.

And mark this review as helpful. Because my advice is always helpful. K?
You know it.

Lambdaclock responds:

I shall

Oh good grief.

That was 1 minute and 22.88 seconds.
It was three scenes, both pretty average looking. Considering how absolutely awesome your art usually is, this is somewhat disappointing.
Those three short scenes consisted mainly of repeating mouth movements (which were all identical and unanimated). There were about two or three non-mouth movements this entire cartoon. They were still images simply tweened.
Not to mention we've seen all but one of these before, so it's hardly anything new. Why'd you need to submit this, man? All it will do is take attention away from other animations out at the moment.

While the voice acting was nearly identical for each character as usual (you got to see if you can find yourself a few extra actors), they were still pretty funny and well done, also as usual.

The jokes themselves weren't really all that great. Of course, this is subjective. I just didn't find this funny.
I suppose others do and will.

I guess the main thing with this, for me, is that you just threw a few of your already made and released cartoons together, added another which couldn't have taken more than an hour to create at most (if that), and tossed them into the portal to undoubtedly gain awards and front page spots that it really doesn't deserve.

Oh well. The cartoons were nice for what they were, good job, etc.

JohnnyUtah responds:

well you're welcome to your opinion on how "good" you think they are but your other arguments are beyond ridiculous. 1 minute and 22.88 seconds? are you really such a jackass you had to time the thing out exactly?

Second, I don't give a shit about AWARDS or FRONT PAGE. I can make sure it's never PUT ON THE FRONT PAGE. I uploaded them to just add em to my flash collection and so people could comment on them if they wish.

THIRD, NOT EVERYBODY WATCHES THE BYTESIZE MOVIES. If they're taken out of bytesize rotation I'd rather have en easily accessible on my userpage and not lost forever.

I AM making total sense here, so I'm glad to enlighten you.

A clown is a jolly man indeed.

Oh, that's fun, Mr Clown.
Let's make more funny talk together.

ZekeySpaceyLizard responds:

hi!

Nothing short of brilliant.

Not often I encounter an animation I actually feel like putting on my favorites list.
This is one of your best yet.
You did awesome on this one.
Anyway, I seriously enjoyed this cartoon and am quite envious of your ability to make so many quality cartoons.

Awesome work. Looking forward to more.

eddsworld responds:

Cheers Squeaky!

Excellent work, man.

Loved the texture, and the style was golden.
The music played well to your art, great selection.
Your expressions were also well defined and fantastic.
I absolutely loved your use of colors, as usual.

It was pleasantly simple.

The only thing I found somewhat poor was the ending. Indeed, it was abrupt, and I was hoping for more delightful animation. Afraid not.

Of course you'll have your idiots who whine about this being on the front page. Of course they prefer poor quickly brushed few second parodies of video games that rely on saying "balls" and "fuck" every 2.6 seconds, giving such animations scoring in the top fifty whilst ignoring the stylistic beauty of pieces like this, which they don't even give a single award.

Ignore them. Please, do so, and keep animating. I want more, man.
Your cartoons are always a pleasant site for sore eyes here on NG.

imjeffhip responds:

Oh don't worry, I love reading bad reviews, they will never stop me from doing anything.

I know the ending was abrupt and dumb, but that's all this was, was a pointless flash.

Just so awesome.

You never fail to make great content.
Your style is just brilliant.
If you stopped animating, Newgrounds would die.

ZekeySpaceyLizard responds:

and lo, I saw....a Pale Horse...and death rode with him.

Excellent animation, childish execution.

You have great animation, and I look forward to seeing more of it.
You have an excellent (though very heavily influenced by obvious sources, though there's nothing wrong with that) style.
You do a great job with your characters.

As for your message, by all means, take action, don't stand by. But the message was childishly portrayed. Imprisonments? Shootings? Overthrowing the government with physical violence?
You can't exactly claim you weren't talking about America, when the newspaper at the beginning is quite blatantly littered with references to the United States and its politics.
You have a very naive view of how things work, and seem to be just a child attempting some monumental and revolutionary political message based on misunderstood facts fed to them by select sources with no real knowledge themselves.
This also reaks of a child believing themselves to be "fighting the system" and "taking down the establishment".

However, it doesn't really matter. It was fun and entertaining to watch.
I voted five, so don't get upset.

Just stay away from attempted "political commentary" next time.
You don't really get what's going on.

Keep animating, though. Your creations are great.

cyberen responds:

I shall do whatever I please!

Brilliant.

Ah, man, not your best animation, but certainly some of your funniest material yet. I loved it. Great work.

My favorite was the dropped call one (can't remember at the moment which company does those). That one was brilliant.

TomaMoto also did an awesome job of the voices.

MetalDart responds:

Thanks a lot squeakytoad, it really means a lot.
It really does. <3
